Breakfast Burrito

campstoveWho needs a plate when you’ve got a tortilla? Just dip it out of the pan, and you’ve got a “handy” breakfast that’ll get you ready for your day.

  • 12 Eggs
  • 1 lb breakfast sausage
  • Shredded cheese
  • Salsa
  • Flour tortillas


  1. In a dutch oven, brown sausage until crisp.
  2. Once cooked, add 9-12 eggs and scramble all together.
  3. Cook until eggs are well done.
  4. Heat flour tortillas to warm and lay flat.
  5. Add spoonfuls of sausage/egg mixture and wrap into a burrito.
  6. Top with salsa or cheese


For more flavor bring some dehydrated peppers and onions. Rehydrate them before cooking with a little hot water. Then add them to the pan and saute before adding eggs.

  • 6 Strips of Bacon, crumbled
  • 1/2 pound Breakfast Sausage, crumbled
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/2 Green Bell Pepper, chopped
  • 1/2 Red Bell Pepper, chopped
  • 1/2 Onion, chopped
  • 5 Mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 Tube Refrigerator Crescent Rolls
  • 6 Eggs, beaten
  • 1 Teaspoon Italian Seasoning
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes
  • Salt & Pepper, to taste
  • 1 cup Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
  • 1 cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese


  1. Line Dutch Oven with tin foil. Spray tin foil with nonstick spray.
  2. Cook bacon, drain grease. Set aside to cool. Crumble once cooled.
  3. Brown sausage, drain grease.
  4. Mix in garlic, peppers, onions and mushrooms in with sausage. Saute until softened - about 5 minutes.
  5. Stir in crumbled bacon.
  6. Remove mixture and set aside.
  7. Unroll crescent rolls and line base of Dutch Oven.
  8. Create the "crust" of the pizza by pinching the dough vertically along the side of the Dutch Oven, up to 1".
  9. Fill the crust with meat and veggie mixture.
  10. Beat eggs. Add in Italian seasoning, red pepper and salt & pepper.
  11. Pour over meat and veggie mixture.
  12. Sprinkle cheese on top of egg, meat & veggie mixture.
  13. Cover Dutch Oven with lid and place on fire.
  14. Bake 25 - 35 minutes or until eggs are firm.
  15. Remove from fire. Let cool a few minutes, slice, serve up and enjoy!


Use pre-cooked bacon or bacon bits to save time.
